  • Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo!
  • When you get home: Remove the bandage within 6-8 hours of getting your tattoo. Do not re-tie it.
  • The first night, you may want to cover your tattoo with a piece of cellophane to prevent it from sticking to your bedding. Do not use cloth bandages or pads, as the fibers in these materials can stick to your open tattoo and hinder the healing process.
  • Wash your tattoo with an antibacterial liquid soap. Be gentle, do not use a washcloth or anything that can cause the skin to fall off your tattoo. Use only your hands.
  • Gently pat/dub your tattoo dry with a clean cloth/towel or paper towel. Do not rub or use a material with a rough surface.
  • First 3-4 days: Rub a small amount of ointment onto your tattoo. We recommend using Pantothenol ointment – It is available in most pharmaceutical stores such as Matas. Always use clean hands and do not place your fingers back in the ointment after touching your tattoo. Make sure to rub the ointment in so that it is not shiny or greasy – you should aim for the thinnest amount possible. Remove any excess ointment with a clean cloth or paper towel. Do not use Vaseline, oil or Bag Balm. Wash, dry and apply ointment 3-5 times daily as needed.
  • After day 4: On the third or fourth day, your tattoo will start to peel. This is normal! Do not pick at the skin. Continue using Pantothenol Ointment.
